its one of these days when one has to be thankful to be surrounded by people you love.

watched transformers as a last min decision, managed to get tickets at the last min! shiok. and the movie was superb! plus its been a long time since i stepped into a cinema.

plus the good food. never mind the rushing back to pass over the syrup waffles.

its a date hot enough for a low maintenance lady.

when my girlfriends get out of quarantine, i am gonna party for my very important 21st!

St Petersburg, Russia.

one of the most unusual places ive ever been to. after the initial shock of arriving at our hostel (which is located nearby a rubbish dump at the back alley) and the need to seriously share toilets (like 2-4 toilets/showers for 24 people) and the hot water tank which runs out really quick, it was still a good trip.

overall relaxed, free from the stresses of SG life. to sing, to explore the city, breathe in the idiosyncracies of this place (such as the really weird traffic and cars that park EVERYWHERE, the need to tip), it has been a good experience to toughen up.

besides singing, there are also days of sightseeing and free-and-easy. thoroughly enjoyed all the museums, the winter palace, the summer palace at peterhof, the Russian Museum. rich culture and history which singapore can never match up to, wide expansive space for gardens, parks, rivers.

food was an adventure too. lunches which are bought individually rather than arranged meals are a source of adventure, in part due to the severe language barrier. food ordering became an "adventure", since you never know what food awaits you until it is served. of course, ingenuity shines through with hand signals, gestures, and, if all else fails, searching for places with picture/english menus. breakfast and dinner, which were pre-arranged, were eaten at a chinese restaurant, which surprisingly, serve food that I, as a chinese, have trouble adjusting to (let alone non-chinese people)

however, the corruption, seemingly endless need to tip everywhere, horrible traffic, and unsafe environment (what with all the professional pickpockets lurking around), and very unpredictable weather (hot and sunny, cold and windy, rain, shine, drastic temperature) make me feel thankful when i finally arrived back home (:

i am not sure whether i will ever go back again, but it sure is a good experience. definitely good bonding, what with wifi sharing, 3 roomates, braving the sun, rain, wind together. the competition turn out ok, but the memories are much better.

souvenirs, for myself, friends and family. a happy ending to a good trip!

my last choir concert in SG?

not quite the ending i was looking for, but still memorable in more ways than one, especially with my personal professional photographer in the front few rows alongside VIPs. sweet.

A mere tinge of guilt (and a fair bit of inconvenience at having to dryclean the choir gown myself, despit being able to claim for it) and alot of exhilaration at being able to sneak off for a short rendezvous shortly after concert. that, and the fact that i actually sang one of my best during the performance, is something to remember.

typical auntie!

shopping for offer veg and chicken. delicious. whole chicken at 99cents! for the huge appetite person, definitely not to be missed. and no way am i losing out to the seasoned aunties grabbing the chicken!

grabbed 1 basket full of chicken. great. maybe next time i can be a typical stylo auntie, which isnt a bad thing, since all guys need is good food to fill their stomachs and they will be happy.

We have reviewed your provisional status for the double degree programme and are pleased to confirm your status in the double degree programme:
Primary Programme: BAcc Secondary Programme: BBM

i worked so hard to maintain this while working part time.

---------------------------------

bumming around the house with my sis, surprisingly, actually made time pass rather fast. lol.

explored sembawang shopping centre, newly opened. nothing much, did some grocery shopping for russia trip! then did a DIY face mask. i feel like a freaking taitai, doing facial masks and shopping. ha.

looking at all the common grouses leading to relationship problems (there seem to be quite afew within my close network of friends), i can conclude that the crux lies in: communication and trust.

especially so in long distance relationships, when one party is busier, no time to meet/talk over internet/phone/skype. insecurity arises, and led the way for all sorts of other problems.

looking back, yes there was a juncture where i thought we wouldnt be able to make it, when technology failed us, miscommunication, too busy, too demanding for meeting time, less phone chats due to (my) late working hrs, (too much rain?) etc etc.

but i have to be thankful, for all my pms-y outbursts, irregular meeting times (or lack thereof), rambling phone chats (which was nearly a one-way blabbling) there was someone patiently standing by quietly, waiting for that time of the month to pass, waiting for exams to be over, waiting for work to be over.

that is trust, that is given freely. and it is earned in return. no more insecurity (ok maybe not none but less), because just as i will never bat an eyelid at other eye candy, i can trust someone to do the same.

Its tiring to be loud and actively breaking the ice by doing all sorts of antics.

acted like a tribal person who couldnt speak english. looked pretty dumb, but at least meeting went well. cant wait for ocip to finally materialise!

other than that, its a great relaxing day with no deadlines, long to-do list, and work.

its high time MOE regulate sex education in schools.

I was unfortunate enough to witness an act on an mrt train.

Scene 1: mrt train

guy in RI uniform, definitely not RJ because he looks way too young to be in JC. girl is casual wear.

guy holds girl's hand (that's normal) and puts her hand between his legs, which were spread open in the way a guy normally sits (that's not normal).

that's when i notice something that i rather not see: something started bulging in between the guy's legs (maybe his uniform pants was too tight... just maybe). then the girl look at the guy, and blushed.

RIGHT. SO I AM NOT IMAGINING THINGS. the guy is holding the girl's hand over there so he could get an erection (and he dosent look like he's in pain so he's most likely enjoying the sensation)

Scene 2

at mrt escalator. guy and girl has exited the mrt train (same stop as me somehow), and is now descending via escalator.

guy holds girl's hand (that's normal). guy bends over to kiss the girl's lower front (that's horribly not normal, because the guy's head was bent to the girl's pants level)

guy and girl smile shyly at each other (my god, what on earth is running through their minds)

COME ON! kissing anywhere below lip level needs to be censored and not done in public!

sec sch boy (and i assume sec sch girl too) publicly displaying their sexuality. right. i wonder where did these people learn such stuff from, because when i was in sec sch i know absolutely nothing (i am really very innocent and pure and good haha)
