forget typical "romantic" (expensive, and having to rush for tables on a saturday night) candlelight dinners.
my unorthodox saturday night date consisted of a half-crashed laptop and several diskettes.
nothing like a cute guy offering to repair your comp for free to make a girl go wild huh.
plus. the computer is actually repaired much more efficiently then a typical repairman.
plus. on top of getting a repaired laptop, i get to enjoy eye candy as well.
now i have a laptop that's good as new, and a sexy unorthodox saturday night date.
its too good to be true eh.

the perfect erratic weather. extreme heat vs heavy downpour
as a result of it:
i started bathing without heater water. which actually feels good.
I discovered that wireless SG is not free anymore! (while hiding in the air-conditioned library)
I look forward to rainy days for a good cooling sleep. nothing like heat to make you look forward to the rain, no matter how troublesome an umbrella is.
------------------
looking at how some people behave, reinforces my belief that i made the right decision.
the idea of holding leadership positions in a student group in university meant that one actually take actual lead of everyone, from planning ahead to the day-to-day (or session-to-session) running of the club's activities. It meant alot of effort, time, and commitment (sacrifice?), far beyond that of the average member. It also meant that an individual, to be "qualified" to lead in such circumstances, should posess these attributes before we can even consider his leadership potential, etc.
Yet, in a club that strives to be part of the excellence programme, we allow people in power to twist it to their liking. imagine your student conductor walking out of a regular session midway, leaving everyone else to ponder what to do with their time. why then, do we allow a person who lacks the commitment to continue leading in this manner? rescheduling/cancelling sessions for a mere person?
the absurdness of it all disturbs me. all that talk about commitment, full attendance, etc etc. apparently some special people have concessions. the ability to leave the country during competition preparation, to leave midway while conducting, knowing full well that his absence cripples the entire session, while i toe the line in fear and trepidation, with an axe that will fall if a wrong move is made.
this reinforces my decision not to take up a prominent leadership position. i do not want to be like these people, trying to lead while lacking the character attributes.
